“On the bus ride back I thought of your eyes so many times. Of how I will just look and look and look into them. Praising all that is and ever was in those eyes. The soul that catches mine on fire lives inside those eyes. Dark brown almonds. I worship the windows.”

I Love You

Growing up I couldn’t have known how much time I would later spend underneath the  ground of the largest city in the USA.

I also couldn’t have known what a disguised blessing this transit system would be. Much of my writing and processing has come from these moments between A and B.

I LOVE YOU MTA.

Even when I hate your guts.

Ram Dass says “The most important aspect of love is not in giving or the receiving; it is in the being. When I need love from others, or need to give love to others I’m caught in an unstable situation. Being in love, rather than giving or taking love, is the only thing that provides stability. Being in love means seeing the beloved all around me.”

I love you. Let your magic self unfold into a prism of multicolored rainbows. Glow bright and color the world with your essence. All of which is perfect.

Tonight was the double gallery opening for ryan mcginley’s work animals and grids. It was awesome! I am so impressed by his work and grateful to have contributed. Check out this lemur checking out my tits! Bradford Cox sang on the roof and after it all I enjoyed a luxurious dinner with a surprise guest visit from the beautiful Taraka Larson at Spring St. Natural. Oh the adventures of soho. If only my camera hadn’t died!!!

Life is such a beautiful bizarre dream.

Thank you for sharing in it with me.

Thanks for breathing with me.

Dancing with me.

Gyrating and loving with me.

I do love you so dearly,

amy

Happy Birthday to my beautiful goddess sister Amber Dawn!

You are so radiant and full of life. Thank you for your many gifts and the innumerable ways you’ve influenced me. I’ll never forget staying at the rolling hills apartment complex during the hot summers while our house on Polaris got repaired. Getting into fights and donkey kicks are the gems of my childhood. It’s amazing all that you endured as a teenager with siblings 10 and 15 years younger.
I think about staying up late at grandma’s and singing songs with you on adam’s little guitar. I smile at all of our dance party memories in the living room. Even though mom’s children seem so different the uniting factor that brings us all together is our killer dance moves and unstoppable ability to groove.  Remember those awesome routines we made up to millennium hip hop hits? Tennessee by Arrested Development is still one of my favorite songs! You were also the first person to introduce me to Sonic Youth, the Beatles and Red Hot Chili Peppers. I have so much gratitude for the musical influences you bestowed upon me.

I cherish the insight and advice you continue to provide me with. During my slumber parties you would tell me and my friends these magnificent detailed ghost stories. I have yet to meet anyone with the same captivating ability to tell a great story. All the witchy magic and spooky mystery is something that stays with me and influences who I am now as a healer.

I am devoted to you and love you so much. Thank you for creating an amazing family and giving me such a beautiful niece and wonderful nephews. I am honored to share blood with you Amber.  I know that our bond is unbreakable and I look forward to what else life has in store for us.
I pray your day is full of bright blooming flowers and peaceful love. You deserve it all.
Lovingly,
Your sister- Ame bame choo choo train.

For the Good times.

Have any of ya’ll ever been in love? It’s a powerful, all encompassing thing - unlike any other experience. The only thing I can compare it to is an ocean wave, a tornado, an earthquake, a shooting star and a blazing inferno.

Something that dumbs you deaf and blind with a shock like lightning to your whole soul. Immensely painful and tremendously beautiful. As tough as the hurting may be, your love will spill deeper because of it.

Kahlil Gibran says it all when speaking of sorrow and joy in ‘The Prophet’;

Your joy is your sorrow unmasked.

And the selfsame well from which your laughter rises was oftentimes filled with your tears.

And how else can it be?

The deeper that sorrow carves into your being, the more joy you can contain.

Is not the cup that holds your wine the very cup that was burned in the potter’s oven?

And is not the lute that soothes your spirit, the very wood that was hollowed with knives?

When you are joyous, look deep into your heart and you shall find it is only that which has given you sorrow that is giving you joy.

When you are sorrowful look again in your heart, and you shall see that in truth you are weeping for that which has been your delight.

Some of you say, “Joy is greater than sorrow,” and others say, “Nay, sorrow is the greater.”

But I say unto you, they are inseparable.

Together they come, and when one sits alone with you at your board, remember that the other is asleep upon your bed.

Verily you are suspended like scales between your sorrow and your joy.

Only when you are empty are you at standstill and balanced.

When the treasure-keeper lifts you to weigh his gold and his silver, needs must your joy or your sorrow rise or fall.

I love you.

Keep it smooth. Keep it real. Keep loving your beautiful fine self. You’re a star.
